This sub-type of the industry comprises companies that produce raw materials like iron ore for the iron and steel industry, chemicals for the pharmaceutical and other industries, and cement for construction.
They are closely related to the manufacturing sector. More often than not, this industry looks for people with civil engineering experience.
The companies undertaking the manufacture and drilling of natural resources could be public or private, and their policies and day-to-day functioning differ accordingly. Also, it is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the country.

This chiefly comprises farming and crop cultivation, dairy and animal husbandry, and fishing. Food grains, fruits, and vegetables have to be grown as staples in the diet of us humans. The dairy and animal husbandry sector keeps cattle and uses them for meat and other purposes like obtaining wool, etc. It also includes the fishing industry.

3. Forestry & Timber:
While forestry provides timber and other kinds of wood used in the construction and preparation of furniture and equipment. This sector again chiefly employs civil engineers. Thus, if you are working in this segment, you are catering to 1% of the global GDP with just over 600 billion USD.
4. Materials:
A sector that embraces a wide range of manufacturing, production, and sale, it includes textiles, steel and metals, rubber and plastics, nanomaterials, masonry materials, glass, environment materials, biopolymer materials, biomaterials, and similar advanced materials.
5. Mining:
The mining industry is important for extracting important natural resources like iron, copper, some precious metals, etc.
At the end of 2020, the mining industry saw a production of about 656 billion USD in 2020. Working in this segment would relate to working for the social, labour, environmental and economic development of the country.
